Those Mighty not Manic Mondays

Welcome to a new week!  Hope your weekend was filled with bright plans!

Passing Season

Can you feel it? Are you finding the deja vú of fall trickling into your thoughts at random moments? Do the delightful aromas of spices and herbs fill your senses wherever you go?  It has truly turned into the delicious season of fall.  A season marked by distinct changes, fond memories, warmer clothes, shorter days, and it throws me into sudden creativity.  I begin to look for new recipes, plan the homemade gifts and Christmas ornaments I will be making (which I really should begin way before now, but I work better under pressure), and have happy thoughts of the glorious gathering together of family.  I think that is why Thanksgiving has such fond memories and joyous anticipation, because I can be with those I don’t see often enough but love dearly.  I am looking forward to the immersion of this busy season.

Repost: Trust in the Lord

IMG_0020

Trusting God…It is an undeniable mystery to trust someone we do not see, feel, or understand.  However, this is the primary call of walking by faith, to trust beyond our own understanding and comprehension.  We have a loving Father who has the greatest concern for our well-being and has invested the greatest price into the resources for our lives, ultimately to see an outcome of His sacrifice in our very existence.

We can trust Him because of the history that He instills in our everyday walk with Him.  The testimony of what He is continually doing causes our hearts to trust Him in everything, without fear!  We know that His goodness follows us, leads us, and surrounds us, and will never forsake us!  God is Love!  Perfect love leads us to perfect trust!

“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18

One of my favorites…

IMG_0107Psalm 16:11 has so much depth and rich text concerning the Lord and His favor on His people.  This is the NKJV (New King James Version) from my Bible, rather than the KJV (King James Version) that I used in the painting above, which contains the Old English like Thee and Thou. Did you notice the word show is spelled shew?  Amazingly enough people still use this older version when they quote the Scriptures…I noticed that Phil uses it in Duck Dynasty at times…son, lol.
