Did You Miss Me?

It’s been a while since writing to you, but this is my attempt to summarize since posting last – more than a month ago.  Sometimes in this life all of your options need to be set aside to gain perspective and restart.

I had an absolutely fabulous time in Vietnam.  It was so different than I imagined and really fell in love with the country, its people, and aspects of what we experienced.  If I should have the opportunity to return, I hope it will be soon.  If you follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter, I was able to post most pictures and stories of what we did there. Here is a brief gallery of some of the pictures that I took:

When I did finally get back earlier this month, I had to have a re-evaluation of my life and goals.  The basics haven’t changed, just some of my heart issues and seeking the will of God in my current circumstances.  I am still living away from my real home and caring for my mother-in-law and her home out of town.  I miss my kids and husband, but I see them frequently, either here or there.  I have peace and I am happy everyday.

There is new direction coming and new purposes for this season, and I can’t wait to implement them. More to come on those.  Here is a glimpse of what I’m working on and not nearly finished yet.

The Adventure Begins

On My Globe-trekking Way….

I felt that this year would be the beginning of God’s promises in your life and that His Holy Spirit would begin to work through your circumstances to align you to His will…that includes me, too!  My heart has been desperate and patient at the same time for the Lord to open the doors for the calling on my life.  I was drastically changed on my first “mission” trip to Africa and my new found perspective of reaching people groups throughout the Earth.

It has been seven years since my  last journey and adventure, waiting for God to call me again to divine adventures abroad.  Finally, I am going…this time to Vietnam.  I will be leaving in late May for two weeks with my son, Peter (the ultimate spontaneous risk-taker), to join Rescue Humanity’s team for medical and dental outreaches from Ho Chi Minh City to northern Da Nang.

I am so excited!  We will be visiting orphanages along the way, working with disabled children and youth, filling our visit with wonderful new experiences and delightful participation in a rich environment and culture.   Traveling primarily along the coastline of Vietnam, we will be in a coastal paradise with many opportunities to help others and give of our talents and experience.

Follow our journey as I blog the day-to-day activities  as we experience them.

The Last Days of Vacation

Southern California

We finished out our two week road trip vacation with Disneyland and beaches in Southern California.  Here are some of the fun things we saw at “The Happiest Place on Earth” first.  We arrived at 7:00 am and an empty parking lot (smile), but we had a purpose for being there so early, we boarded our dogs at the Kennel Club inside the park.  It was only $20 for the day (first come, first served) and the lady who was in charge of the kennel has gotten rave reviews for her service…  She was excellent!  Our dogs (Gigi and her cousins Colby and Lorenzo) were really happy there, I guess they were officially Disney Dogs.  Enjoy!

We had a fabulous time!!! It was a great day – all 17 hours there (7am to 12am).  We did every thing: Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, Runaway Train, Tom Sawyer Island, the Haunted House, and so many more.  We did a lot of shopping too, souvenirs galore, and we want to go back.  I hope you plan a trip there with your families and add great memories of time together.

Finally, we rested after traveling thousands of miles, eating every cuisine on the planet (first time eating Korean food!), seeing wonders of the Southwest and enjoying every minute! Fun, fun, fun!
